From Maracaibo, Venezuela, Luis Mora is a young trumpet player based in the United States. His career reflects a blend of academic rigor and artistic excellence.
Luis began his musical journey at the José Luis Paz Conservatory of Music as part of Venezuela ‘s renowned El Sistema program. At the age of thirteen, he relocated with his family to Orlando, Florida, where he continued his musical development by being a member of the Florida Youth Orchestra and private studies with Professor John Almeida.
In 2024, Luis earned his Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance from the Schwob School of Music at Columbus State University where he studied with Dr. Robert Murray. During his time at Schwob, he also completed a Musicology degree.
He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Music Performance at Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University, studying with Stuart Stephenson, Principal Trumpet of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra.
Luis has participated at prestigious music festivals across the United States, collaborating with distinguished conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel, Roderick Cox and David Chan.
His orchestral experience spans several professional opportunities, including regularly performing with the Brevard Symphony Orchestra, The Villages Philharmonic Orchestra, the Albany Symphony Orchestra, and the Lakeland Symphony Orchestra.
In addition to his career as a performer, Luis has served as a trumpet instructor at YOU El Sistema Orlando and continues to grow his own private studio, as he continues to share his passion for music to the new generations.
