Group Lessons
Group lessons are an affordable option for learning an instrument or voice. Our group lesson classes are kept small, to ensure that every student is receiving the teacher’s attention.
Group lesson availability may vary based on minimum class size requirements and teacher availability.
Chamber Music & Small Ensembles
This is one of the things that sets Bonham Conservatory apart. The opportunity to play music in the chamber music setting is a phenomenal opportunity for fun and musical growth.
Most students who want to study music never have the opportunity to learn chamber music, but chamber music is actually one of the most important—and most beautiful—parts of the repertoire. For the few who are given an opportunity to play in a small ensemble, the young students often struggle and fall short in this setting, because they are left to themselves—they’re struggling to figure out some challenging things on their own.
At Bonham Conservatory, we are very pleased to offer chamber music coaching from our experienced faculty to any and every student who would like to come and participate in our program. Any student—yes, even students who do not take lessons through Bonham Conservatory—can sign up to be a part of a small ensemble!
At the beginning of each semester, the faculty will work to place students into ensembles of similar ability (and schedule availability). The small ensembles meet weekly for a one hour rehearsal each week, with one of our faculty members coaching the students for the entire rehearsal. Near the end of the semester, the groups will perform in a small recital.
Musicianship Classes
Bonham Conservatory’s Musicianship class is another distinctive that sets us apart. Our students can come to a weekly class where they can enjoy community with other music-loving students, while learning the basics of music theory, music history, and artistry.
Our Musicianship classes are also open to music students and music lovers from the community, even if they are not enrolled in lessons at the Conservatory.
Children
Bonham Conservatory has excellent children’s music programs.
For young children, we offer the world-renowned Kindermusik program.
For older children, we offer tin whistle classes, in which children can learn all of the basics of music by learning an easy sweet Irish instrument (that is very inexpensive).
